Was wondering if you might be able to help me ... I just picked a ton of fresh figs from the three sikies in our yard and although we love to eat them as is, was hoping to make something with them as well. I could make a few desserts to eat the next couple of days, but was thinking I wanted to make something that would last and we could savor for a longer time. Would you be willing to share a recipe for glyko tou koutaliou -- either for ripe figs or the immature green figs. My grandmothers and mother have made only glyko stafili, kerasi and tomata (from Kalymnos) so I am not sure if there is a different method to be used with the sika.
Thank you so much and congratulations on a great blog! You've inspired me to start one as well ...

Hi Maria,
I would be glad to give you the recipe for the spoon sweet. Please visit my other blog http://kopiaste.org, as I am no longer posting in this one. You can leave me your e-mail in the contact form (only I will see it) and I shall send you the recipe. I shall soon be posting a recipe I did with fresh figs.
